MCA Photo Contest
MCA is launching its annual photo contest for its 2022-2023 calendar!
Each year MCA holds an annual photo contest for its calendar. The winning photos will create MCA's 2022-2023 calendar. Photos should fall into 1 of the 4 submission categories: Hiking/Mountaineering/Slogging, Skiing, Climbing (Rock & Ice), or Scenery/Landscape. This year's calendar will be HORIZONTAL, which means we will only accept horizontal photos. A maximum of 4 photo entries are allowed per person. You can submit all 4 photos to one category or divvy them up however you may choose. Submissions will be accepted between July 12-31st and then online voting will occur from August 8-15th. Photographers of the winning photos will have the opportunity to share about their winning photo at the October 2022 MCA general meeting.
Scroll down to submit your photos below! For each photo entry, you’ll be prompted to provide the photographer’s name, a photo title, brief caption, and general timeline for when the photo was taken (e.g., month and year). We’re looking forward to seeing all of your awesome adventures!
Photo Contest Rules
Submitting Photos:
Each person is allowed four photo submissions (you can choose to submit one photo per category, all four in one category, or any other combo).
All photos must be Alaska-based.
Upload Tips:
All photos must be in horizontal orientation (i.e. not vertical).
When possible, submit the highest photo quality/size available.
The absolute minimum resolution for printing is 8 megapixels (or about 3300 pixels on the longest side).
If possible, crop your photo to 11x8.5 for the best printing. (if you don't know how to do this, no worries, we'll do it for you if you win!)
If you are one of the contest winners, you may be asked to submit a larger version of the photo to increase the print quality of the calendar.
